A common (and I think true) axiom is that the proliferation of AI writing is leading even people who don't use AI to subconsciously pick up those patterns and start talking like AI. But I think another thing is going on where we avoid using regular turns of phrase now because they "sound like AI"

I took a Journalism class in high school in 2005. One of the things the teacher pressed was the old axiom, "if a headline is asking a question, that answer is probably No" - LRT is a noted exception to this.
